Since then, Louis has made some of the most memorable documentaries on British television - from When Louis Met…, which included notorious episodes with Jimmy Savile and The Hamiltons, to a number of immersive documentaries exploring crime, mental health and fringe communities across the world. LOUIS THEROUX’S FORBIDDEN AMERICA

Louis Theroux’s Forbidden America, Sunday, 9pm, BBC Two

Louis Theroux returns to the USA to explore the impact of the internet and social media on some of the most controversial corners of American entertainment.

Travelling the length and breadth of the United States, Louis meets an assortment of fascinating and sometimes troubling content creators: young streamers who promote far-right views; rappers who commodify their often-chaotic lifestyles; and porn performers making their income via subscription-based social media accounts and using their new autonomy to call out bad – and occasionally illegal behaviour by alleged industry predators.

The first episode of Louis Theroux’s Forbidden America, ‘Extreme and Online’ was broadcast on BBC Two on Sunday 13th February 2022. Watch the episode here.
