I agree with Sheila: How did you stick that out? You handled the accusations and pressures very well, I thought--particularly when the other documentary videographer and his wife pressured you to follow in their errors and when you were being accused of twisting words and meanings.
They missed Jesus’ discussion on the greatest commandment along with the many other, similar Scriptures. This group is obviously off-base from typical Christian teachings.
I understand your position on the Bible, but if you visit the group again, I would suggest asking for some specific Scriptural references that they use to support their teachings and even inquire with specific Biblical passages that discuss love, compassion, grace, or mercy in relation to their protests and actions. They often spoke about God, what the Bible says, and Hell, yet never once do I remember them quoting specific Scriptures or examples from the Bible in relation to their actions. Such quotes would provide a better understanding of their interpretation of Scripture.
It was a good documentary. I am glad The National Geographic Channel broadcasted it.
